Lefty Setter
The video has some one the plays that will demonstrate my ability as a setter.
I played club and school basketballI growing up, but discovering volleyball in my freshman year in high school was a game changer. After being part of the first freshman volleyball team to go undefeated at Eastlake High School, I decided to pursue volleyball as my primary sport. My sophomore year taught me a lot. Being one of the few sophomores that made varsity, I made a conscious effort to get myself involved with intention and intensity on the court at every game. As a result of my dedication to the team, my pursuit of improving my skills, and my constant reflection and input to my team, I was awarded the MVP at the end of season. During that summer I also continued to seek opportunities to refine my skills and participated in various competitions. In summer of 2018, I started taking part in college volleyball camps and playing for local club teams. Later, I earned a spot on one of the top clubs in the county, Seaside Volleyball. After moving to Seaside Volleyball Club, I became a captain on their top 17s team. I took the growth and experience and transitioned into my high school volleyball season. In my junior year I became a starting setter on my high school varsity team and led the team to a 30-0 in sets, league champion, and San Diego County’s Open Division CIF semifinalists. My accomplishments earned me the honor of being one of the only two juniors who made 1st Team All League. I hope to continue playing volleyball in college.
